  51. The latest version of the SBDIG.ADV driver contains routines designed
  52. to correct undocumented "Halt DMA transfer" problems with Sound
  53. Blaster cards.
  54.  
  55. Unfortunately these routines cause lockup problems with SBOS. The -O1
  56. switch on SBOS is designed to compensate for this, however this
  57. option conflicts with Privateer.
  58.  
  59. The file AILPATCH.ZIP allows you to search files for these routines
  60. and disable them, allowing SBOS to operate properly.

  63. 3.0.0 ********************* CHAPTER 3. - USAGE ***************************

  65.  To use this patch,
  66.  
  67.  * Change to the install directory of the software you are having trouble
  68.    with (e.g. CD C:\PRIVATER)
  69.  
  70.  * Unzip this program into the install directory of the software you are
  71.    having trouble with (e.g. PKUNZIP A:\AILPATCH )
  72.  
  73.  * Run AILPATCH, specifying the file name of the sound driver
  74.    (e.g. AILPATCH SBDIG.ADV) or the name of the file containing the sound
  75.    driver (e.g. AILPATCH SOUND.TRE)
  76.  
  77.  * You should no longer have any lockup problems.
  78.  
  79.  NOTE: For Privateer, you must specify SOUND.TRE as the filename, since
  80.        this file contains all of the sound drivers.
